It's the perfect time to have Bak Kut Teh in England right now. It's snowing heavily and it's freezing! Bak Kut Teh is a traditional Malaysian herbal soup and the name translates as 'meat, bone, tea.' The ingredients for the herbal soup supposed to be beneficial to our health but always read the labels before consumption. We used a packet of prepared soup ingredients and we added meat before simmering for hours. You can add in any meat of your choice or opt for a vegetarian version using Shiitake and tofu. Afterwards, Bak Kut Teh should be dark in colour like oolong tea and flavoursome. Serve with blanched lettuce, cooked rice and fresh youtiao for dipping and to absorb the soup.

Ahora es mejor comer Bak Kut Teh cuando está nevando y hace mucho frío en Inglaterra. Bak Kut Teh es una sopa tradicional de hierbas de Malasia y el nombre significa literalmente: té de costilla de cerdo. Se supone que la sopa de hierbas es beneficiosa para la salud, pero tiene que leer la etiqueta. Utilizamos un paquete de los ingredientes preparados de la sopa. Añadimos la carne y hervimos a fuego lento durante horas. Se puede añadir la carne de su propia elección u elegir una opción  vegetariana con el Shiitake y el tofu. El Bak Kut Teh tendría un color oscuro como el té oolong y sería rico. Se sirve con la lechuga, el arroz y el youtiao.

Le temps est parfait pour manger Bak Kut Teh quand il neige et il gèle en Anglaterre. Bak Kut Teh est une soupe traditionnelle aux herbes de Malaisie et le nom signifie littéralement: viande-os-thé. Les ingrédients de la soupe aux herbes sont censés être bons pour la santé mais il doit lire l'étiquette. Nous avons utilisé un paquet des ingrédients préparés de la soupe. Nous avons ajouté la viande et nous les avons mijoté pendant des heures. Vous pouvez ajouter la viande de votre choix ou choisir l'option végétarienne avec le Shiitake et le tofu. Le Bak Kut Teh aurait la couleur foncée comme le thé Oolong et serait savoureux. Il est consommé avec de la laitue, du riz et du youtiao.

1 packet (80g) dried Bak Kut Teh
1.2ml water ~ agua ~ eau
2 whole bulb of garlic ~ cabeza de ajostête d'ail
400g meat ~ carne ~ viande
100g Enoki mushroom


Method ~ Elaboración ~ Progression

1. Add the soup ingredients, the meat and the garlic to the boiling water, and simmer for 2 hours. Then add mushrooms until cooked

1. Añada los ingredientes de la sopa, la carne y las cabezas de ajos al agua caliente, y hierve a fuego lento 2 horas. Después, cocina el enoki.

1. Ajoutez les ingrédients de la soupe, de la viande et des têtes d'ail à l'eau chaude, et mijotez pendant 2 heures. Après, faites cuire d'enoki.
